Owner & Co-founder
Martine Shandles is the Co-Founder of Holme Wellness, a psychiatric and integrative wellness center that blends traditional mental health care with holistic, body-based practices. With over 15 years of experience spanning the fields of wellness and healthcare, Martine has dedicated her career to helping people feel more connected to their bodies, more grounded in their nervous systems, and more empowered in their lives.
Martine began her professional journey in a physical therapy setting, where she developed a deep appreciation for the mind-body connection and the role physical health plays in emotional wellbeing. That foundation, combined with her passion for movement and mindfulness, inspired her to launch Happy Yoga in 2012 — a concierge wellness practice serving clients throughout the NYC metro area. Through Happy Yoga, she led private, semi-private, and small group sessions in yoga, Pilates, and personal training, with a warm and personalized approach. Her offerings also included breathwork, pre- and postnatal support, and trauma-informed movement, all tailored to meet each client exactly where they were.
Martine’s training reflects a deep commitment to integrative, accessible care. She holds certifications from Dharma Mittra (200-hour yoga certification), Jason Ray Brown (Anatomy Studies for Yoga Instructors), Deb Flashenberg (Prenatal Yoga Center), and Lisa Danylchuk (Yoga for Trauma). She is also a certified mat Pilates instructor through Power Pilates, an ACE-certified personal trainer, and has been a devoted practitioner of Transcendental Meditation since 2008.
While she still teaches on occasion, Martine’s focus today is on building spaces of healing and possibility through Holme Wellness — a center that honors the whole person and brings together psychiatry, therapy, TMS, ketamine, yoga, nutrition, and more under one welcoming roof.
